The existing Universal Hilton consists of a 21 story tower that is adjacent to both the 101 Freeway and Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal Hilton needs to expand due to high demand.
A new tower design complementing the existing tower, consists of 395 hotel rooms, flexible parking spaces, spa, salon, meeting rooms, new pool, gym, and rooftop restaurant.
The tower massing is the result of planning constraints. Volumes subtracted from the massing create amenity spaces within the overall form.
Placement of the new tower creates efficiencies in program use by sharing amenities amongst the existing hotel tower and the newly designed tower.
New ancillary buildings will weave together the existing disparate structures to create a cohesive campus like feel.
